A successful implementation is key to the overall
successfulness of a software system. Consequently, Symposium
places a great deal of emphasis on ensuring that your Horizon EME
installation is carried out thoroughly and quickly, with a
rigorous work-up process to ensure that any contingencies or
last-minute adjustments are accommodated and resolved. Symposium
has extensive experience working with organizations of all sizes
in both the public and private sector, and a strong track record
in providing positive, hassle-free experiences for our clients. In
all cases we believe in transparency and open communication at
every stage of the process, so your team is fully aware of the
project status and any challenges or opportunities that arise, and
we in turn are aware of any changes to your situation or needs.
To help facilitate this, we often follow a standard
deployment process, as outlined below:
Needs Analysis
Every company, agency, and organization does things
differently. We therefore place a great deal of emphasis on
learning about your specific needs, requirements and challenges.
Based on this, and through ongoing communication with your team,
we in turn develop and submit for your approval a solution and
implementation plan that fully reflects what you require.
Statement of Work
Based on your feedback we develop a detailed statement of
work as well as a functionality checklist. This gives shape to
what the final system will look like, and details in specific
terms the implementation timeline and other plan details for
completing the project.
Data Integration
At this stage we gather the requisite data to be integrated
into the Horizon EME, and convert the GIS data and any other
information such as schematics, pre-fire plans, premise data and
so forth. We also configure the Horizon EME to reflect your
response masks, units ID’s, zone boundaries, and any other agency
and jurisdiction-specific details.
Final Implementation
Once all information is incorporated and the system is
configured to reflect your specific needs, on-site implementation
is undertaken by a specially-trained project team. They will
install the system at your site, conduct on-site testing, confirm
the functionality list, and conduct training.
System Cut-Over/Final Acceptance
We generally
suggest running the Horizon EME concurrently with your existing
system for at least a month, and then doing a cut-over at a point
in time when personnel are confident and familiar enough to affect
a smooth transition. At this point the system is brought live and
primary, and your ongoing support officially begins.
